About
Hi, I am Rolan Bag-ao. First, I am not an expert in everything about MS Office but am happy to write about it in order for me to learn more about the subject. I am also writing about my experiences in utilizing MS Office applications as it applies to my present work as an Internal Auditor, specially on my use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access as an audit tool. My favorite applications is ms access since it allows me to generate analysis of the whole population of data instead of just conducting analysis based on a sample. MS Access also allows me too convert data from other database formats like MS Excel, text file extractions from Oracle, CSV files or others into an Microsoft Access table for me to analyze using Access querying capabilities.
I also use MS Access to link to our company’s Oracle server for me to generate audit data. Linking is done through an ODBC driver for Oracle. This way I don’t need to convert the data from Oracle into a text file first, then convert it to an Access table. Access directly communicates with our server and all the tables from our Oracle server is presented to me as if its an access table.
As regards MS Excel. I use it to format results from my analysis either for printing of reports or distribution to other auditors.
I would also be writing about my experiences with using MS Word and MS Powerpoint, though on a lesser scale only.
I have also posted and will continue to post links to youtube videos showing tutorials about Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
